The Date is Set!

Many of you have gotten a phone call and many will get an email as well...to anyone that has been missed, my deepest apologies.

But the call came Wednesday afternoon and the date has been set. Dogger will go into the hospital on February 15th for his transplant. They'll put the port into his chest first on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday will be chemo (I believe) and then I think the transplant itself will be Friday. I'm guessing at the schedule.

I'll be bringing Christian out next week for his pre-tests and work to be done and then he and I believe his fiancee will return on the 15th for the week. As things become clear, I'll get them posted.

Keep us in your prayers...the elephant now has form.

Approval!

The insurance company has finally confirmed what we've been waiting for, Dogger's transplant with Moffitt has been approved! Thank you God!

Now we're waiting to hear back from Moffitt that everything is in order and we'll start looking at the calendar and get the planning going, dates selected and I'll be making LOTS of phone calls to everyone whose agreed to be a caretaker and calling others to share the news.

I/We can't begin to thank you all enough for all of your prayers, kind words and keeping us in your thoughts. I am very much looking forward to being on the other side of this "adventure" versus staring it down. The prospect of not having Dogger with me every morning as the first face I see and every night as the last one I look at just hurts my heart. But its for a good reason and those days and nights will only account for a small amount of our time together when you add it against the next 60 years we want to have together.

So again, please keep Dogger in your prayers. We'll be in touch very soon!

Much love!

Update

Hi! Well, Dogger went to Moffitt on January 4th to update his physical paperwork. All the tests went fine, no problems. They also have the release from the dentist/oral surgeon, so we've done our part. All of the information is in Moffitt's hands to submit to the insurance company.

The amazing part, since the procedure has already been approved, this is just the final formality of it all. We can expect an answer and start scheduling anytime between now and within 5 days! Holy smokes!

So we should know when all the excitement will take place shortly and you'll definitely know via phone and this site. Stay tuned! More details will definitely follow!
